Episode 6: Simplifying the Meaning of "Wellness"
This week I’m going to be talking about…Wellness. This has been such a buzzword right alongside “Self Care”. As a holistic health professional I’ve noticed how the wellness industry has changed over the years, how much pressure there can be behind the pursuit of staying “well” and how much wellness has been commodified and morphed into something that feels unrecognizable at best and harmful at worst. My first hand experiences and experiences with my practice members has taught me how individualized, simple, and holistic wellness can really be. I’ll discuss my take of what I’m seeing out there, what I think are possibilities for what it can be, and what I believe to be the pillars to wellness.
