5 Cozy & Healthy Winter Drinks You Should Try
Now that Thanksgiving is over the holiday season is in full swing! While I've got nothing for you when it comes to where the best Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales are, I did round up a list of yummy fall drinks to try while you're cozied up browsing the web for the biggest deals! Beyond holiday shopping, one of my favorite things about this season is simply cuddling up on the couch at home when its cool out. Whether I'm hosting family and friends or enjoying a lazy weekend at home, I love a warm, comforting drink to top things off during the holiday season. I've rounded up 5 healthy coffee alternatives from some of my favorite blogs that are not just delicious but also low on/caffeine free, nourishing, and free from processed sugar. If you've been following me for any amount of time I'm sure you're shocked none of them are coffee, but believe it or not I've been trying to limit myself to one morning cup to watch my caffeine intake/avoid dehydration. Plus we all know the holiday season can be a tough time in general when it comes to sticking to healthy habits and avoiding too much sugar, so take comfort in knowing all these options are just as healthy as they are tasty! At my house tonight we'll be staying in to work on the Christmas tree and kicking off the holiday movies so I'm sure we'll be putting one of these recipes to the test. Cheers!
Pumpkin Chai Latte
This recipe from Cookie + Kate is a delicious combo of two classics: Pumpkin Spice and Chai. What's not to love?
Golden Milk
This inflammation- beating concoction from Minimalist Baker is good any time of year but something about the sweet + spicy flavor lended by mixing ginger, cinnamon and maples makes me feel like Fall.
Beet Latte
Yes, you read that right. Beets! Beets are surprisingly versatile as this recipe from Fertile Alchemy displays, and full of essential minerals. It uses a roasted beet, but I bet you could get a similar result using beet powder if you want to skip the roasting step. I also love the pretty magenta color!
Matcha Latte
Another classic that's not limited to any season. This recipe from Nutrition Stripped is super simple, but can be easily dressed up to make it more "festive". Adding extras is not the traditional way to enjoy Matcha, but I'm all about making traditions personal by creating new ones.
Maca Cacao Hot Chocolate
Who doesn't love hot chocolate? This recipe from Love and Lemons uses Cacao, a pure form of chocolate packed with anti-oxidants and Maca which has a number of health benefits as well.
